Hello! We set up this blog as a place to ask for prayer. It is our hearts desire to go as a family overseas on a short term Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic. We want to wait until the Lord has totally funded us before we go, but our target date is Feb 2012. While we were here, Richard shared the Gospel of Jesus. We handed out crosses and Billy Graham booklets about steps to peace with God, as well as sunglasses and magnifying glasses.
Yes, Leprosy still exists but there are medications that they take now that help them to not be contagious. Lepers choose to live in these colonies because of the stigma that goes with it and sometimes feel they are accepted with people like themselves.
Wow - hard to believe there is still leprosy in this world. Are they treated in any way, or does it just get worse?
